Calexico, CA is a city located in the Imperial Valley of Southern California. It is conveniently located near major highways and is considered an important port of entry on the US-Mexico border. Public transportation in Calexico includes both fixed route and demand response bus services provided by Imperial County Transit. The buses cover most parts of the city, stopping at two downtown transfer centers as well as various shopping centers and medical facilities. Additionally, local taxi companies provide door-to-door services to those who need it. The Amtrak station in nearby El Centro also serves Calexico with several daily trains heading to Los Angeles, San Diego, and beyond. All other forms of transportation such as bike sharing, car sharing, and ride sharing are not currently available in Calexico but may become options in the future as the city continues to develop and expand its transportation infrastructure.
