Ledbetter, KY is a small town located in southern Kentucky. As such, it has a unique political landscape that is shaped by local concerns. The town has been represented in the Kentucky House of Representatives since 1974 by a succession of lawmakers. The current representative for Ledbetter is Harry Johnson, a Democrat who was elected to the office in 2018. At the county level, Ledbetter has three elected commissioners representing its interests on the Ballard County Commission. They are Joe Reed, Judy Jones and Brian Smith, all of whom were elected in 2019 on platforms of increasing economic opportunity and addressing local infrastructure needs. Additionally, Ledbetter has had a consistent presence in the Ballard County Republican Party since its founding in 1976. Together these representatives make up the backbone of Ledbetter's political system and work to advocate for their constituents at both state and local levels.
