Romeville, LA is a small town in Louisiana known for its historic charm and close-knit community. The politics in Romeville are relatively quiet with only local elections taking place every few years. Mayor Mickey Price has been the mayor of the city since 2000, having been elected four times to the position. Under his leadership, Romeville has seen many improvements such as new infrastructure projects and investments in educational programs. Until recently, there were no other political candidates to challenge him but this year two local residents have stepped forward to run against Mayor Price. Emily Smith and Jack Johnson are both former teachers who want to bring more support for public schools and better roads in Romeville. While their chances may be slim due to Superintendent Price's long history in office, they hope that their platform will resonate with voters and encourage people throughout Romeville to go out and vote.
