Rodeo, New Mexico is a small town located in the desert region of southern New Mexico. Politically, the town has traditionally been a strong supporter of conservative values and policies. With a population of around 200 people, Rodeo's biggest issues tend to revolve around local issues such as education, economic development, and infrastructure. The current mayor is Luis Varela, who has been in office since 2017 and seeks re-election this year. The town council consists of three members who are elected to two-year terms. Rodeo also has one state representative from the 40th district of the New Mexico House of Representatives who serves both Rodeo and nearby towns.
