The Village of the Branch is a small town located in upstate New York. Despite its small size, it has an active political scene. The village is governed by an elected mayor and board of trustees. Every two years, local residents can vote for their preferred candidates from both major political parties to serve on the Board of Trustees and as mayor. In recent years, the village has seen a mix of both Republican and Democratic representatives in elected office. As a result, many important decisions have been made with bipartisan support. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
