Put-in-Bay, OH is a small village located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. It is known for its colorful history and exciting summer activities such as fishing, sailing, and swimming. Put-in-Bay has an independent government system that consists of five elected officials - Mayor, Council President, Clerk-Treasurer, Building Inspector/Zoning Administrator and Service Director. Put-in-Bay elects local political candidates every four years to serve on the village council. The council meets regularly throughout the year to discuss issues related to the village's economy, education, infrastructure needs and public safety programs. In addition to its elected officials, Put-in Bay also partners with a variety of special committees that focus on specific issues such as tourism promotion and beautification projects.
