Vian, Oklahoma is a small rural town located in southeastern Oklahoma. It is home to a diverse population of approximately 1,400 people. While the town is not at the center of state or national politics, it does have its own local government. The mayor is elected every two years and is responsible for presiding over city council meetings and approving budgets. The Vian City Council consists of five members from wards throughout the city who are elected to four-year terms and are tasked with setting policy for the municipality.
