Bensalem is a small town located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The community is served by the Bensalem Township School District and is home to several local parks, businesses, and government offices. On the political front, Bensalem has consistently seen its citizens elect Democrats to represent them at all levels of government. In 2020, Congressman Robert Brady won his election for re-election as representative of the First Congressional District which encompasses Bensalem. At the state level, Senator Steve Santarsiero and Representative Gene DiGirolamo are responsible for representing Bensalem in Harrisburg. Both have worked diligently on behalf of their constituents and have received widespread support from the citizens of Bensalem in recent years. As part of their efforts to bring legislation that will benefit the greater Philadelphia area, both Santarsiero and DiGirolamo have worked tirelessly on initiatives such as transportation funding and healthcare access for low-income families living in Bucks County. Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. The six elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) would be expressed as six-letter word (R R D R R).

Then we went a little further and added the dimension of magnitude. If the difference of victory was greater than 10 percent, the letter is upper case, and lower case if the difference was less than 10 percent. This allows us to see interesting voting patterns at just a glance.
