Farmington, WA is a small city located in northwest Washington with a population of approximately 5,000 people. It is governed by a mayor and six City Council members who are elected by the citizens of Farmington. The political climate of the town has always been relatively tame, with local issues such as zoning ordinances and public works projects being discussed at council meetings. Every two years, residents get to vote for new candidates to represent them on the council and mayor’s office. With the recent influx of businesses coming into town, more attention is being given to economic growth and other related topics which have changed the political landscape in Farmington.
