Drew County, AR is a small county located in the southern part of the state. It is known for its rich history and unique culture. Politically, Drew County is a swing county with a diverse population that votes largely Democratic. The Democratic Party has traditionally held a majority in local politics, though recently there have been some gains by Republicans. Members of both parties are actively involved in local politics and are often seen campaigning for various offices throughout the county. One of particular note is Mayor Tyler Webb who was elected in 2019 and is the first African-American mayor in county history. He has worked to bring new businesses to the area and reduce crime as well as improve education options for all residents. In addition, Senator Dan Sullivan was re-elected in 2018 to represent Drew County and surrounding areas in Arkansas' state senate. As such, politics play an important role in the lives of those living in Drew County and it continues to be an interesting area to watch come election season each cycle.
