Presque Isle County is located in northern Michigan and is known for its rural beauty and long stretches of beaches along Lake Huron. The county is divided into four townships, Grand Lake, Metz, Millersburg, and Presque Isle. These townships are overseen by a Board of Commissioners which is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Presque Isle County. Each township elects their own representatives to the Board which meets regularly to manage county-wide initiatives such as zoning changes or new construction projects. In addition to the Board of Commissioners, each township also holds their own elections for mayor and other positions related to local government. The citizens of Presque Isle County take an active role in shaping their community by voting in elections and raising awareness about local issues.
