What BestPlaces Users Say about Siesta Key

Siesta Key, Florida is a barrier island off the coast of Sarasota known for its stunning beaches and relaxed atmosphere. It has become a popular destination for tourists and retirees, but it also has a vibrant year-round community. According to user reviews on bestplaces.net, Siesta Key is a highly desirable place to live with many positive aspects that draw people to the area.

According to "Mickey D," Siesta Key is "just a beautiful place" with "friendly people" and "plenty of things to do." He also praises the "clean beaches" and "perfect weather." Similarly, "Beach Lover" describes Siesta Key as a "paradise" and "heaven on earth." She values the "small-town feel" and "gorgeous sunsets" while also noting the convenience of nearby amenities and attractions.

However, not all reviews are entirely positive. "Disappointed in Paradise" expresses frustration with the "extreme traffic" and "crowds of tourists" that can make it difficult to enjoy the island. They also mention the high cost of living and limited job opportunities. Similarly, "Siesta Resident" mentions the "tourist invasion" and "skyrocketing property values" that have changed the character of the island.

Overall, the majority of reviews on bestplaces.net paint a positive picture of living in Siesta Key, with many users praising its natural beauty and laid-back lifestyle. However, some caution that the island's popularity and growth can also bring challenges. Ultimately, each person's experience may vary, but Siesta Key remains a highly coveted place to call home.

climate and lifestyle - 12/28/2007
like any sub-tropical paradise, the climate is the best and the worst all rolled into one. Today is Dec. 28th, 2007, the temperature is 82, the breeze is on, life is as good as it gets. It was just like it yesterday, the day before, last week and last month. It will be just like this for the next 5 months, but then it will begin to heat up and coming around July, the other end of the spectrum will provide for extreme humidity, thunderstorms daily, with the threat of a hurricane here and then. While the area has not been hit in God knows how many years, and never in a devestating fashion, the thought is possiblity is there and the media does not let us to forget that. Don't bother to watch the weather on TV and if you must, watch ABC or the weather channel, all the others are just hypping the situation to the max, and trying to cash in on every possible weather situation no matter how minute, as in like we don't know that since we live here.
