No place is perfect however BG is at or near the top especially in schooling and crime prevention. Numerous parks and biking paths. A great place to raise a family safe and secure. High respect in community for disabilities. Taxes are above average that's the tradeoff as in our parts of the country. Love living here,but have noticed, (with the exception of the police and fire depts), village is not the model of an aggressive leader in preparation for future needs as in the past.[read more...] |

Quality of Life is top notch! - 8/15/2006
My wife and I moved here in 1993 strictly because of the schools. We made a great choice. Beside the highest quality in education, the village's Police, Fire and Park Districts rate top notch. Highest in safety. Many diverse ages and general feel good atmosphere prevails here! Politicians are approachable and professional. Traffic can be frustrating at rush hour, but these needs are being addressed. Perfect place to live for families...25th largest community in Illinois. We're happy here![read more...] |
