3/13/2014Numerous forest preserve areas with walking paths and places to play sports (baseball, soccer, football). Close driving distance to Lake Michigan and several rivers/lakes to enjoy water sports. Downhill skiing is available in smaller ski areas than out West or East. Cross country skiing can be done at the forest preserves or by Lake Michigan. Despite the winter weather, runners are outside year round.
