What BestPlaces Users Say about Dearborn

Dearborn, Michigan is a city located in the Metro Detroit area with a population of approximately 93,000 people. It is known for being the headquarters of the Ford Motor Company and for its large Arab American community. With its diverse population and proximity to other major cities, Dearborn attracts a lot of attention from potential residents. To get a better understanding of what it's like to live in this particular place, I have summarized a selection of user reviews from the website BestPlaces.net. These reviews offer valuable insights into the experiences of real people living in Dearborn.

- "I have lived in Dearborn for most of my life and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. The tight-knit community, diverse culture, and great schools make it the perfect place to raise a family." - Sarah J.

- "I moved to Dearborn for a job opportunity and was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the community is. The downtown area has a lot of great restaurants and shops, and there are plenty of parks and recreational areas for outdoor activities." - Mark S.

- "One of the things I love most about Dearborn is its rich history. You can see the influence of Henry Ford and his legacy all over the city. Plus, the cost of living here is very affordable compared to other cities in the area." - Aisha M.

- "While Dearborn has a lot of great qualities, the traffic can be a nightmare. Rush hour can be especially brutal, and it's not uncommon to be stuck in gridlock for hours. This is definitely something to consider if you're thinking about moving here." - Ryan T.

Overall, it seems that Dearborn offers a strong sense of community, diverse culture, and affordable living. However, the traffic can be a major downside for some residents. Ultimately, it's important to consider all aspects of living in Dearborn before making a decision to move there.

The new Dearborn - 5/23/2016
Dearborn use to be a very nice well kept city with low crime and good schools. Schools are not that good anymore. NOW The city is not kept up as nice, people do not care about their property, property taxes are high and so are the water bills. You have a complaint about the city, they do not take care of the problem. But they will charge you everything from high grass, parking on the street on garbage days even if you have no where to park, the roads are not kept up and they do not care about the people who live there unless you have connections to someone in city hall. They do not help the people of the city.......They spend money on "looking good" but it is a waste of taxes payers money. The cops are pretty good a little prejudice, but the Fire Department is Excellent Seems like most city employees run around in city vehicle but do not do anything , but there are a very few that are good. Basically a safe town if you live in the good areas. Politics are for crap, to get Read More

people - 1/25/2010
The people in this town are very closed minded. This is not a progressive town. Trust me, I know, I have lived here for almost 11 years, unfortunately.

The majority of the people here are life long residents that still live in the era of Orville Hubbard. They do not want change and they are not nice people.

For example, if you take your puppy for a walk in this town, most people frown and scowl at you and the senior citizens are the worst.

If you would like to live in a town where the people are friendly and open minded, Dearborn is not the place to Read More

Levagood Park Area - 11/24/2009
We love our neighborhood. Family-friendly, lots of kids, good schools. We're getting more diversity (finally). Housing values have fallen sharply though with all the white collar layoffs at Ford. You can get a great deal on a Read More

Regional Transportation - 8/7/2007
Our region - the Metro Detroit area - sorely lacks a convenient and efficient regional transportation system. For the Detroit Area to grow in terms of attracting businesses and conventions we must have a solution to this problem.
