Best place to live - 6/3/2007
Tons of reasons why Hastings is the best. Some natives, some transplants which makes for a great mix. We welcome the new because if you pick Hastings for what it is today we know you'll help keep it the great place it is. The school district is fabulous, the downtown has warm n fuzzy neat shops and pubs and a great food coop. The wonderful river front we love because it is beautiful all year around. The river makes me serene and instantly takes me away from it all when I see it.

Small Town Life - 3/1/2007
Hastings, MN is a nice place to live if you enjoy a small-town atmosphere. The people are mostly friendly, everybody knows everybody, and the way of life is hard set with little change in sight.

Hastings is an interesting mix between old and new. There are a few corporate fast food chains and big box stores in the central part of town, but under the brigde at the entrance of Hastings, is the old section known as "Over there by Main Street".
