What BestPlaces Users Say about Laughlin

Laughlin, Nevada is a small town located on the banks of the Colorado River, just across the border from Arizona. It is known for its casinos, outdoor recreation opportunities, and affordable cost of living. With a population of around 7,500, it offers a small-town atmosphere with easy access to bigger cities like Las Vegas and Phoenix.

Located in the southern tip of Nevada, Laughlin has been described as a hidden gem by many visitors and residents. While it may not be as well-known as other tourist destinations in the state, it has a loyal and growing community. According to the user reviews on BestPlaces.net, here is what some people have to say about living in Laughlin.

1) "I moved to Laughlin from California and couldn't be happier. The cost of living here is so much more affordable and the weather is amazing. I love being able to walk along the river and enjoy the outdoor activities. It's a great place to retire or just get away from the hustle and bustle of big cities." - Sarah H.

2) "I've been living in Laughlin for over a year now and it's been a positive experience. The people here are friendly and it has a small-town feel. The casinos offer plenty of entertainment options and there are some great restaurants too. The only downside is the lack of shopping options, but I don't mind driving to Vegas for that." - Mike P.

3) "I've lived in Laughlin my whole life and have seen it grow and change. It's a beautiful town with a lot to offer, especially for outdoor enthusiasts. I love being able to go boating or fishing on the river whenever I want. The only downside is the summer heat can be brutal, but it's worth it for the mild winters." - Jessica M.

4) "I've been living in Laughlin for two years now and I have no complaints. It's a peaceful and quiet town, but there's still plenty to do. I've made some great friends here and feel safe walking around at night. It's definitely a hidden gem and I'm happy to call it home." - David L.

Small town with nothing to offer - 11/20/2021
Boring little casino town. Good way to waste your life here. You got Meth-head city across the dirty river. Some water activities if you aren’t broke but that stuff is mostly used by tourists. If you’re not a senior citizen you only have two choices of apartments. Both places are terribly run and frankly physically worn down too. Two gas stations a family Dollar and a food market if you don’t feel like driving over the border to get more affordable groceries. It’s mostly old people and some poor rundown folks. Most of these people have no life. And get it it might be kind of quiet and relaxing but if you’ve ever lived anywhere you’re just gonna waste your life here doing nothing. The summertime times are run in to the 120s. High winds are common. The only way this town is livable is if you moved here from somewhere else came here with money and you can take advantage of the low cost of living. It’s not a city of opportunity. If you’re looking for a small town I say keep looking this Read More

Beautiful Mountains. Small Town Feel. Conservative - 1/30/2019
I divide my time between Laughlin and work on the road and I always look forward to coming back. I love the small town feel of the Laughlin/Bullhead City area and the beautiful mountains surrounding it. Well-maintained highways. Watersports on the Colorado River and camping at Big Bend of the Colorado State Park. Just an hour or two from places like Oatman and Valley of Fire State Park. Great restaurants and shows at the casinos downtown, yet drive a mile or two and you're in the desert.

Housing: both real estate and apartments are still highly affordable.

Traffic: you can pull out onto a four-lane highway and see just one car in either direction. Since I spend time in Los Angeles, I appreciate that.

Weather: very windy some days and blistering hot in the summer, but spring and fall are just lovely and even in the middle of winter there are shorts and shirtsleeve days.

Politics: Because Laughlin is included in Clark County its Read More

Laughlin, NV Air Quality - 1/14/2015
think of relocating to Laughlin. Every factor looks good except the air quality rating. I could understand this rating if the Mohave Power Station was still in operation but I believe it was totally dismantled in 2011... When and how does the air quality get tested. I went to another site Laughlin, NV Air Quality/Home Facts that list 98.74% Good for Laughlin and 1.26% Moderate levels. Also the data on Midland, Texas is somewhat outdated. I have lived here since 1974. The moderate home price has escalated to $250,000. Traffic is horrible with all the transplants coming to Midland to find jobs in the oilfield. Since the recent decline in the price of oil maybe it will be "Yankee go home"... I can say this because I came from Michigan originally. It has been a good place to live except for the last few Read More
