Cost of living - 6/4/2013
OIL BOOM. LOTS OF JOBS. APARTMENTS ARE RENTING FOR $1,000 A BEDROOM. GOOD SCHOOLS, BUT GETTING OVER CROWDED. ALL STREETS IN NEED OF REPAIR. LONG COLD WINTERS. BEAUTIFUL SUMMERS, BUT THEY ARE SHORT. THE COST OF GROCERIES HAVE ABOUT DOUBLED SINCE THE OIL BOOM. A CUP OF YOGRT COSTING $1.00 IN MOST PLACES NOW COST $2.00 HERE. GAS PRICES RUN HIGHER HERE THAN IN MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN. I been living here for the last few month, its a complete hell hole. cost of living is really high, for a two bed apartment is on the upper numbers of 1500 plus, and its in bad condition. Basically this is a work only state, not a place for kids.[read more...] |

Magic City - 6/13/2007
Very harsh winters but pleasant falls,springs and summers. A great place to raise a family of all races. Wonderful public school system and great college(Minot State University). The only downfall would be the isolation to a major city.[read more...] |
