I grew up in New York and moved to Houston at the age of 24. My husband and I were tired of the cold and icy winter weather and hot, humid summers. Luckily he was transferred to Houston, Texas. We then were moved to San Antonio, TX with the same company for 7 years. We enjoyed San Antonio while we were there, but then were moved back to Houston. I have lived in Texas for about 45 years and now live in Waco. Waco is the best of Texas since we are centrally located, just 3 hours from Houston, 3 hours from San Antonio, 2 hours from Ft. Worth or Dallas, and 1-1/2 hours from Austin. We have our own airport and cost of living is much less than any of those other big cities. We have 2 major hospitals and live just 15 minutes away from one of them.
