santa fe springs used to be a good place to live, but those days are long gone. crime is on the upswing. (whittier police dept. is contracted to s.f.s.)
police protection is nearly non existant. they cruise through our neighborhoods but never get out of their cars.
a former retired police officer expained the situation, officers get paid whether they do their jobs or not.
basic city ordinances are rarely to never inforced. things like parking accross sidewalks, blocking driveway access, double parking, illegal fireworks, visible junk vehicles, lapsed vehicle registration, graffitti, noise pollution, hazardous waste dumped in the gutters (oil, radiator antifreeze, etc.) multiple vehicles parked on the street 24/7, visible garbage cans, frontyard debris, unkept lawns, permit inforcement (roof, fence, driveway, etc.) senior citizen harrassment.
