I am thinking of relocating to Redding next year. I currently live in San Jose CA and cost of living here is so expensive and hard to keep up if you are not working in tech. I am thinking of opening up a martial arts studio focusing on women's and kids self defense. I have 31 years of martial arts training myself. You think that would help the community feel safer?

Amen! I too grew up here and moved away for a couple of decades...upon returning, I quickly regretted moving back. The crime and druggies are the worst - heroin and meth are rampant...can't wait to get out of this dump. If they'd get rid of the toxic human waste that come in daily - and homeless camps...maybe it would be livable for decent families to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. If anyone is considering moving here - you are nuts!!!! Redding has all the big city problems with non of the benefits!!!! Run away!
