I’ve lived in Broomfield for almost 25 years. We moved here to raise kids and for the schools in Boulder Valley School District (without having to live and pay for housing in Boulder). Great city for commuting to Boulder or Denver for work, 20-30 minutes either way. Clean, hometown feel. It’s true that it is lacking a downtown district like Boulder and Louisville, but there is plenty of shopping and you can drive where you need to be. Art and music in surrounding venues and bars is easily accessible. It feels safe. It is safe to raise children. My experiences with police and emergency services have been fast, fair and balanced. I think we have a nice blend of politics on the continuum which also keeps things balanced. The oil and fracking issues are being fought by citizen activists and they’ve been able to accomplish more than neighboring communities. Hiking trails nearby are great, too.
