WHY LIVING IN CLOVIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED

While this area has a reasonable cost-of-living and crime is low, statistics are rising. The population has grown to over 50,000 - the police can't keep officers because the city does not pay enough - there is a shortage of officers.
On the subject of health, the air quality is VERY poor. The medical care
is among the worst in the nation. The doctors are 4th rate rejects who would not be accepted in any good medical institute. The hospital, Plain Regional Medical Center is a JOKE! Honestly, you would stand a better chance of surviving at Huntsville, Texas (where the executions are held) than at this sorry excuse of a hospital. They first had 13 violations by the state and then got another 37 citations. That is how bad the hospital, doctors and medical care in Clovis is. Most people here choose to go to Lubbock Texas, where the care is fair quality, but still not outstanding. We go to Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, the finest in the country, rated #1 in Best Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report for the past 30 years.
There is very little to do in Clovis - the smell from cow manure can be very strong and the strong winds which kicks up dust contributes to cases of asthma. We only moved here so my wife could take care of her mother. We
are planning to move to the east coast, where it is both beautiful, plenty to do, and close to Johns Hopkins Medicine!
