seriously? MOSQUITOES? I was born and raised and live in San Francisco and I am 62 years old, so I know what I'm talking about. I live 3 doors from Golden Gate Park (larger than Central Park in NY) and we DO NOT HAVE mosquitos. For 96% of the year the weather in my neighborhood--which gets the famous summer fog -- is between 46 degrees (at night) and 68 degrees (during the day). It is not hot enough for mosquitos here -- and when you have a picnic, there are hardly any flies. I don't even have -- and never have had -- screens on my windows (which, fair enough, are rarely open because it's not hot enough except for maybe 10 days a year). So I have NO Idea what city this fool is talking about, but it's not MINE. Maybe he was wayyy down in the south bay area, like Fremont or something? Still, this area is NOT known at all for lots of mosquitos!
