I, too, spent a good many years in South Florida but once the kids were off on their own, my Mom and I decided to join forces and head north. Have been in the Triangle region of NC for the past 13 years but it's never felt like 'home'. Been considering a move to northern suburbs of Atlanta for no reason other than prices seem doable comparatively speaking. We know nothing of the area but an agent with whom I've communicated is steering us towards Canton/Woodstock areas. Are you finding these locations to be fairly well developed with plenty of amenities.....markets, Sprouts/Trader Joe's/Whole foods/Publix/Kroger/Costco etc in reasonable proximity? Does it feel for the most part to be 'civilized' as compared with provincial or rural? And healthcare? Have you experienced any of the local hospitals or medical offices? Are they in easy drive? Where in S. Florida were you living, btw?
Any insights you might provide would be appreciated and am grateful in advance. Feel free to e-mail me if so desired.....nancyd438@hotmail.com.
Thank you,
Nancy
