i grew up in Appleton and Little Chute, am 20 years old. Im gonna share my full feelings for WI., bare with me.. i used to think that Wi. was not a fun place to grow up and live. Well now that I'm older, i realize that i couldn't have been more wrong. There are so many great things to do just in my area, or a short drive. Many things, I took for granted, untill now, since im leaving for college soon. I probably won't be able to enjoy all these things together again all together. First off in summer, the days are long hot and humid... just how i like it, its perfect for a day of swimming at Red Granite Quarry(Redgranite, WI.)Or on a really hot day, take a day trip to Wisconsin Dells to cool off. The nights are nice enough to sleep outside in shorts and a t. Some of the best activities in the country happen in WI. We have Country USA Music Festival in Oshkosh, the city also plays host to LifeFest, and The EAA Convention. All three of those events are the LARGEST of their kind! We have great fishing, camping, hiking, and recreation. In general the summers are summed up by -you'll have some of the best times that you wont remember with people that you will never forget forget. Then it comes to fall. Alot of the summer outdoor activities (camping, hiking, fishing) care also really popular in fall. The trees get pretty beautiful. A great time of year to take a trip to Door CO. or La Crosse, WI. Even a hike on Rib MT. But my favorite thing about falls in Wi, fore sure has to be the start of the NFL season. and NFL in WI means, GREEN BAY PACKERS, the pride and joy of my life! But Then... Fall turns to winter( my least favorite) Long... Cold.... Icey.... Wet. However, there is plenty of great things to do in a Wi. winter. Ice fishing on the lake. Or after a big snow fall take a drive up to Hurley, Wi and spend the weekend there snowmobiling. its great for skiing and snowboarding. Lets not forget about the start of deer hunting! Yeah.. its kind of a big deal here. But, all those fun things come with some cons. Like.. scraping your windows off in 0 degree weather for 15 minutes, brrr. Or the fact that the snow makes everything sooo much fore difficult. But it turns out that no matter how long and terrible the winter is, everyday becomes worth it if the Packers make the playoffs. p.s Every sports fan should take a trip to Green Bay, Wi. to visit the shining jewel of the NFL, iconic lambeau Field looking back at all that, having grown up in WI. and having been brought up around loving, caring, and thoughtful people; the kind of people that are all over Wi. I realize that I would not have wanted to grow up ANYWHERE else!
