Review of Hemet, California

No peace of mind in Hemet.
Star Rating - 3/6/2021
I lived in the Hemet San Jacinto area since 1994. I watched the area go from fair to bad and finally from bad to worse. With the county releasing prisoners in the area came an influx of drug dealers, and with criminals came criminals friends. As of 2020 I was afraid to go out anywhere at night. Not to go out to dinner, pick up a pizza or a quart of milk. I locked my doors, and then locked the bedroom door and kept a gun on the nightstand. I learned to live in fear in Hemet. Car theft is off the charts, home invasions, robbery, assault, burglary... Hemet is a place to avoid. In january of 2021 I moved out of Hemet and out of California. I encourage you to think twice before moving here. Your peace of mind and perhaps your life or that of your family may depend on it.

Kinda sounds like Buffalo N.Y. and Niagara Falls (the American side) We have cold winters but trust me that doesn't slow any crime. So I can only imagine California. My brother lives on the outskirts of San Diego and he says it's a dump. Not many safe places to live. So much crime. I live in the suburbs outside of Niagara Falls. Taxes are ridiculous, but I know California is just as bad if not worse.

Truthfully, I don't think there is a place in the US that is the same as it was years ago. I moved to Sacramento, CA in 1973 and it was considered a hick town. Fast forward to now and it is over populated, the traffic is horrible, the valley pollution-when looking down from the hills-has a thick layer. I want to leave California but I worked for Kaiser for 27 years for my medical retirement benefits, which are worth their weight in gold, and I have to live in a Kaiser service area. I saw this mobile home and checked to see how far away a Kaiser is and I see they are partnering with Target to open a clinic. Life is not what it used to be and at 62 I don't know if there is a nice place anywhere to meet my needs.

You are 100% correct. We need to find a way out of this forsaken hole. The crime they show here is low on the graph. We that live here know it is much higher. I am glad to hear you escaped this going down hill quicker town.
