Review of Vallejo, California

Ghetto Ghetto Ghetto!!
Star Rating - 9/22/2009
I was born and raised in Vallejo, California. It is heartbreaking what has happened to Vallejo. Fiscal mismanagement and political vendettas caused Vallejo to file bankruptcy in 2008. Since then the police force is down 50 officers and 3 fire stations have been closed. Crime is UP. Robbery, car-jacking, etc in daylight. Kids with guns. Property values are DOWN.
If you call the police department , you reach an answering machine. 911 calls take too long to respond to. It will take decades for Vallejo to be what it once was. I am glad now that I did not move back home.

Indeed, it's people like you who need to move as far away from Vallejo as possible, preferably to Forestville, Ca or areas such as paradise california. Vallejo needs loyal leaders, wheather home owners, renters, bussiness owners, students, police etc...You did the right thing to move away and not look back. Progressives do not need you here. Vallejo has been changing the last 10-15 years, but before it gets better, it has to get worst, e.g. fiscal mismanagement, BK protection. Look around and search a bit more and you will find out many more cities in the bay area are very close to this. Also, by you relating" Ghetto, Ghetto, Ghetto" it is an expression of yourself, NOT all or most residents living here. I will agree, some residents and persons in town are shady, but even affluent towns have their share, just not that noticeable. So yes, Vallejo has it's share of problems and I am sure it will overcome them in the near future.
