"New Jersey and you...perfect together"

New Jersey and you...perfect together - 9/2/2010

Despite out sterotyped image of big hair and loud mouths....New Jersey truly is a great place to live. New Jersey is the sum of its suburbs; to the North you have New York City, and to the South, Philadelphia. Being so close to 2 major city gives you the advantage of the big city life with comfortable suburban living. You have access to restaurants, museums, zoos, aquariums, plays, symphonies, the ballet, sports teams.... To the east you have the beautiful shoreline with relaxing beaches....and to the west...mountains, hiking and camping. The newly revived Atlantic City, provides the traditional gaming entertainment coupled now with shows, concerts, comedy, outet shopping, and top notch restaurants.
If you are still not satisfied with all there is to do in and around New Jersey, we are a short drive from Washington DC and Boston. Access to transportation especially international airports is easy, and give you many options for planning your getaways.
The climate in New Jersey is relatively mild. To the North the winters tend to be slightly colder with more snow fall which lends nicely to winter sports and skiing. The southern portion of the state rarely has any significant snow fall. Spring and Autumn are lovely with vibrant flowers or striking foliage. Summers tend to be hot and humid but this is easily relieved with water sports along the Delaware or relaxing at the beach.
For those wanting to live away from the hussle and bussle...New Jersey has a copious amount of farm land and country....for we are the Garden State. Much of the center of the state is horse/livestock and produce farming. At the same time you are just a stones throw from the night life of a major city.
With some of the top schools and universities in the nation, New Jersey is a great place to raise a family.
Basically anything you are looking for in a place to live you will find it in New Jersey. We need to be renamed the " Opportunity State".

I live in Linden. Ilook at Sperling's reviews often. I like Linden. However how can Linden's air quality go from 24 to 92.2 in one year? Did they tear down the refineries and plant a hundred acres of trees? No. I would like to depend on the numbers with these reviews however no way is the air quality in Linden NJ the same as Boulder Co.

Taxes, taxes and more taxes.. They have yet to come up with a tax to breath the filthy air. Property taxes are a rip off! And you can not win with the school mob or city mob.

Neighboring states - - 11/16/2014

I disagree with the idea that NJ costs of living are on par with neighboring states. Overall, Pennsylvania offers a lower cost of living.

Property taxes - 11/2/2014

Although the cost of goods is probably on a par with neighboring states, property taxes and the cost of homes pushes the cost of living way up in New Jersey. You can get way more house and pay less taxes in just about any other place.

Education - 3/2/2013

Long Branch is the place for Education . They have the best schools. Especially for handicap children. The rent is high but its worth living there. As long as you keep to yourself. The beaches are beautiful and the houses are beautiful too. I can't wait to move back counting down the days.

Too expensive - 8/14/2012

Residents in New Jersey pay too much in taxes, too much in car insurance, too much for housing, and have no extra quality of living to show for it. I was born and raised in this state but I can't wait to get out.
