Review of Paradi,

Paradise burned to the ground in Nov 2018
Star Rating - 11/18/2019
The town of Paradise pretty much does not exist anymore. The Camp Fire of November 2018 razed and blazed it to the ground. There are very few structures left standing. This is no exaggeration. If you follow the national news you no doubt saw a lot of coverage of the fire. Check out the Frontline or Netflix documentaries on the subject.

The Town of Paradise has been an incorporated community in the State of California since 1979, and an unincorporated community since 1862. Long considered a bedroom community of Chico, the Town is beautifully situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains, above Chico and the Sacramento Valley. The population of the combined incorporated and unincorporated neighborhoods was estimated at 49,000 as recently as 2017. However, due to a utility company's negligence, the Town suffered a catastrophic fire in 2018 and has shrunk in population to approximately 5000. Miraculously, many businesses survived, and neighborhoods are being rebuilt. It is still a center of natural beauty and historic interest. Historically it was an important center during the 'gold rush' as recently as 2013 a huge gold nugget was found and sold at auction for over half a million dollars.
