Pahrump is a nice little town with a big future.....we've been here since 2009 from Las Vegas....and since we bought our house in 2012 our equity has went up 8% a year ever since.....and we are taking that equity and moving up north, not because anything is wrong with Pahrump the town its self.....for it is a nice, quite, safe place to live, and i have no reason to lie about it.....we lived in Vegas all of our life, it used to be nice in the '70's but unless you're rich Vegas is full of crime, drugs, and gangs.....except for the tourist areas, for they do a pretty good job at keeping a lid on most of the crime.....but it is a loud, busy traffic nightmare for the regular working man or woman.....Pahrump is not what people say it is, the traffic is very low, the crime is very low.....and i hear about these meth heads, and all the crime....i have never seen it, but of course my wife and i don't go looking for it either....but we have never felt unsafe out here, and i hear that the welfare people jam the stores on the begging of the month.....no, not many welfare people, but maybe some unfortunate folks that are out of a job, for jobs are low....the reason the stores are busy at the time of the month is because there are a lot of retired people on social security, and many retired military veterans that also get paid at the beginning of the month.....and the traffic is very low, it has increased a bit, but not enough to go all ballistic over, it is because people in Vegas are realizing that they can get the best of both worlds by being near Vegas, but living in a peaceful, safe and quite town away from the busy city.....but progress is coming to Pahrump, but by the time it is a big city too, the people worried about that will all be dead and gone.....so enjoy the steady increase in population, and a steady climb in homeowners equity....and now that the Raiders are coming to Vegas, that is great for Pahrump for homeowners, now if you are just some old nutcase that says....Pahrump is going to be just like Vegas.....yea, maybe in 60 years, so get real, if you want to live in a safe place to raise your kids, there is nothing wrong with Pahrump....and the weather is a few degrees cooler than in Vegas, and at night it is 10 degrees cooler than Vegas all year round......so we have enjoyed out time here....but like i said, we are taking our equity and leaving town, and if we stayed longer we could leave with more.....but we are in our early 60's, and we love to fish, and we are tired of the heat.....but if you don't mind the heat, come to Pahrump, and you will like it here......i wish it had a movie theater, that is one thing that we miss.....but it is coming, along with some more new restaurnats......and for those who want it to be a one dog town, well.....go pitch a tent in the desert and live with the scorpions.....for there is nothing wrong with a slow, steady progress where everybody benefits from that.....they always have, but i am tired of people putting down Pahrump, and lying about it.....like i said, we have no reason to lie, and we are only leaving to be in a cooler climate and to fish.....so don't listen to the negative and false reviews, come see for yourself that this is a nice little town.
