The state of Illinois has always maintained a colorful history as it relates to politics. Many a government official have become infamous because of politics and the lure of power. The state of Illinois can be called the let's make a deal capital of the USA. Our only saving grace to date is newly elected, President Barack Obama. He is one of the bright lights to come out of Illinois.
