Review of Tennessee, Tennessee

Downhill fast
Star Rating - 4/6/2023
I was born and raised in this state but Tennessee is going downhill fast.

First, you should be aware middle Tennessee is #1 in the nation for nighttime tornados. Storms happen frequently in the summer and it’s generally humid, especially in the middle of the state where all the water pools. The issue is largely in West and Middle Tennessee, rare to see one in East.

Second, you should be aware according to PopulationU.com:
“By 2023, Tennessee state accounts for the fourth highest violent crime rate in US.”

Memphis Tennessee was ranked the 5th most dangerous city in the US according to MoneyGeek.

Bristol-Kingsport area ranked #2, Knoxville ranked #3, and Chattanooga ranked #9 in the nation for metro areas with highest rate of depression according to ceufast.com.

Should you be injured, you should know Tennessee ranks #40 in healthcare according to USnews.com. I personally know several healthcare workers that complain about current conditions and low pay.

According to the “State of the Child 2022”, Tennessee has the highest rate of foster care instability in the nation despite leadership claiming to care about kids.

One of the biggest perks to living here is the cost of living, however, that’s changing fast. We have one of the highest sales taxes in the nation, so as inflation eats into your paycheck, your sales tax is increasing. Out of state investors are buying up apartment complexes and jacking up rent. I had a guy purchase the building I was renting and increase the price 40% month over month.

Many counties have no restrictions on automobile pollution. This sounds great until you try to go for a walk. Loud trucks that spew black smoke are quite popular here especially in more rural areas. Tennessee ranks #39th in environment according to USnews.com

There’s very little in the way of public transport, even in cities. Some have a small bus that’s usually not on time.

It is a felony to camp on public property in the state of Tennessee.

Ending on a high note, Tennessee ranks #1 in long term financial stability, however, this is because it refuses to spend money which contributes to the issues listed above.
