Review of Silver Ci,

Bad vibes...

I've lived all over the US. This is my perspective on Silver city. Beautiful country, nice weather but full of unhappy, unpleasant people.Every city has a soul and for some reason the soul of Silver city is rotten....There are exceptions but it doesn't take many jerks to ruin a place and I've encountered a far higher number of jerks in Silver than in other places I've lived. It seems to be 'across the board'...Natives, retirees, young, old etc.How could this be? It's not logical, but it's true. I moved here with great expectations and knew in one week that I had made a mistake. These are my observations....

"I've lived everywhere in the US."....and you're still looking for a place you like? How about canada or old mexico? Love the review, keeps the grumpy old hobos out of this little gem.

If you see one or two jerks every so often, they're jerks. If you see jerks everywhere every day, you're the jerk.

I have lived in Silver City for 10 years and couldn't disagree with you more! It has to be a reflection of yourself. This place has some of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever known. Lots of good here. Of course there are negative aspects like everywhere but the good out powers the bad.

I have lived here for 11 yrs, from UP of MI, lived/worked in Milwaukee, Detroit, Seattle, and small towns in-between. I am not totally happy here, but that is because I live in an apartment instead of own a home with land, and that is because I spend all my money where I want to spend summers, back in UP of MI, on 200 acres, and a friend had a place in AZ to spend winters, so I make no investment here, but if I needed to find a place, this is NOT the worst. There is a small liberal-arts university here and dozens of artsy-fartsy places, none of which interest me, but I am an animal and head out to the mountains as soon as I finish the work week. For me I prefer more Americana than what is here, but as a single guy, that simply means a bigger better sports bar. For anyone liking 'Mexican' food, I think it would be hard to beat the options around here, which is near 60% Latino. Location here is centralized to Tucson, El Paso, and Albuquerque, but also to MANY mountains with small town 'charms' too. Lots of variety here, not much fishing, lots of camp sites in the pine forests however.
