...compared to Oxnard, CA, it's way cheap. i've lived in Oxnard, CA for(dang)ever. i want out and i'd rather live in aurora any day than to live in the blackholes of Oxnard. over here in Oxnard, almost everything i buy is expensive: gas, food and utilities. regular gas is about $3.00/gallon, $20-40 on food (if i'm being careful), and $130 on utilities (w/conservation). on top of that, i have to pay for rent. in oxnard, a room for rent is around $400-$900 (that's just being friendly) + security deposit($50-$500), depending on the connection you have with the landlord and where the sources are found. some of the room for rents are not even presentable, nor a room. i've met a woman who wanted me to rent out her garage (with her car being in there) for $500/month. not only are the room for rents expensive, but the cost of apartments are ridiculously overpriced. a one bedroom apartment over in Oxnard is around $880-$1900. apartments with more than one bedroom are about $1000-$4900. it's horrible living in here! Oxnard is really ghetto, and even my boyfriend who used to live in Aurora, said that living in Oxnard is way more expensive than Aurora. Oxnard is just really bad. the crime rate over in Aurora is probably the same as over here. Oxnard is just an expensive Aurora, filled with constants of: ghetto-fied melodic ice cream trucks, bell-ringing sounds from workers pushing ice cream carts during the morning/afternoon, drive-by cars, 1995 honda civic cars filled with an overexceeding amount of passengers than the capacity of people the car can hold (i.e. 10 people in a 5 seater honda), and very loud mariachi music (includes an entire drunk, singing family). did i also mention the sounds of gun shots, ambulance and police sirens almost every day? they don't call Oxnard "North Mexico" for nothing......
