4/27/2015Well after living here for 12 years I can't disagree in fact I am looking to move as far away from here as WY or perhaps Utah. At one time it was a nice place but like anything that's a well kept secret once everyone descends upon it well it all goes to h***. Now the area is known for it's beer and "Keep Asheville Weird" etc. don't get me wrong I love hippies as well as a good beer but as the old saying goes be careful what you ask for. Now the cost of living is outrageous no affordable housing a decent 1 bedroom can cost you $960. Home invasions, rape, murder, meth, gangs just check WLOS news if you are thinking of moving here.

Asheville is incredibly overrated -
4/27/2015I have lived here since 2004 and watched what was once a nice place go down the proverbial toilet. It has always been over priced and pretentious regarding the cultural offerings however now we have gangs, meth, rape, murder and home invasions along with unemployment and yet people continue to move here? Why? The cost of living is horrendous.
