Westminster, CO

No matter what, Mile Highness will always stand co
- 2/20/2007
I guess no matter what happens in Denver, it will always be the best place to live. Tell that to Denver Broncos Darrent Williams, who was killed by gangbangers in Denver New years Eve. Low crime rate??? Where do you live? Highlands Ranch? I forgot, they found a lady there decapitated after being dragged to death by an illegal immigrant a couple months ago. Speaking of immigration, drive down Federal Blvd. or Colfax,(main arteries) and you'd think you were in Mexico City. The Denverpost just reported how the gang activity is skyrocketing out of control (again), along with graffitti. You call that a nice quality of life? Maybe if your sitting in your SUV every weekend driving to the ski resorts three hours away. Denver has had the worst pollution days this last winter in over ten years. The weatherman reminds everyone to stay indoors, including the healthy folks, due to respiratory issues. Employment, you've got to be kidding me! The jobs still pay is if they were in the haydays of the early 90's while every slum lord is jacking up prices in order to compensate for the exuberant cost of living. The apartment quality themselves around Denver don't come close to any other metro area, UNLESS your paying Los Angeles rent prices. Forget 1st class service. Customer service doesn't exist amongst these mile high bigots. I am so glad that I'm leaving next weekend! You can keep your pothole ridden, overpriced housing, crime ridden, homeless Denver (over 12000)! To everyone saying cost of living is better than New York, it's sad to see you compare this midwestern hillbilly city to a cosmopolitan city such as New york in order to make a point. The weather is soooooo overrated here. Its cold 6 months out of the year, brown landscape, finally it warms up in June, and you have hail and thunderstorms ever day! Last but not least, the number one issue I have with Denver is the attitude of these self-rightious, self-centered, my way or the highway attitudes. I've never encountered so many stupid attitudes in one place. I blame it on the thin air. Nice place to visit, thats about it!

Compton, CA

Beautiful Suburb, full of opportunity!
- 8/11/2006
Compton is a beautiful suburb of Los Angeles. An abundent amount of real live movie clips, swap meets and bazaars, and entertainment venues. A lot of young people and middle aged people are already retired in this city. It practices diversity, and preaches integration. Casing point. I did 12 years in Pelican Bay. After my release, I now call Compton home. There is a reason why rappers (RIP: 2 Pac, Eazy E, Biggie Smalls, etc) call this place home.It gives you an opportunity to improve your lifestyle, even with a criminal record. I think the motto for the city is "The longer your rap sheet, the better your future in Compton". Unfortunatly, if your not in a gang you won't progress to much here, so you might want to try Riverside. Well, I need to get going, or they will revoke my parole. Besides, my 30 minute time on this libray computer is up! God bless Compton!

Beaches
- 8/11/2006
From what I see, the beaches look pretty nasty. Why is that? Is it pollution? Is it due to the rivers exiting into the ocean? I am curious if swimming is even an option. I know its not going to be like Florida beaches, but still....

Commerce City, CO

Place looks like New Jersey
- 8/5/2006
Shacks, Blue collar trash, and crime. Add in traffic, oil refineries, and the smell of fresh pretrol with a truck stop and there you have Commerce City. The name speaks for itself. If you like pollution, this is the place for you. Another beautiful Denver suburb.

Lakewood, CO

Lakewood as going down.
- 8/5/2006
With the influx of Hispanics taking over, crime is increasing. How can you say that Lakewood is not becoming another West Denver? Graffiti, shacks, bums and gang members at local parks, etc. If your visiting this place, just take a drive down 6th avenue, you will see graffiti on people’s roofs. How about a walk around Sloans Lake off Sheridan? Just like the first commenter states, you might wonder if you’re in Juarez. And yes, this includes the city of Lakewood. Besides that, everything else is run down, unless you live closer to the foothills. Unfortunately, not every bought a house in the 70's. Prices are pathetic, especially with the lack luster job market in Metro Denver. (Still trying to recover from the worst recession since the depression.)

Denver is not Dynasty
- 8/4/2006
If you plan on moving to the prairie with mountains, be prepared. Grab your sunscreen, health and auto insurance cards, wallet, pistol, eye drops and belt buckle. The sunscreen and eye drops are for the bone dry, sky high dry altitude. Have your insurance cards ready for the cancer treatment centers, as your body absorbs the UV rays a mile closer to the sun. Keep the auto insurance cards handy, and make sure you have the uninsured coverage. This will be necessary for all the douche bag drivers that day dream or chug along in this so called city at a pace that makes you wonder if they are driving in a funeral escort. Otherwise, good luck as Colorado has one of the highest uninsured rates in the nation per capita. Add your stupid hail storms and snowstorms and you will end up not giving a damn about your car just like the rest of these mile high cowboys. You'll need your wallet handy as you fill up your tank and enjoy your 3 hour drive up to the lush brown mountains in stop and go traffic. Grab some alignment coupons and be prepared as the roads in this state literally suck. I cannot imagine the city of Denver in the next 10-20 years, as the roads are literally falling apart as we speak. The only answer they have is some type of toll road to siphon your money since the state would rather build prisons and fund the Gestapo police that exist. LOL!!!! The city of Denver is now pulling cyclists over for going over the speed limit of 15. Anything to generate revenue and pull you over. It’s a police state, so be careful not go over the low posted speed limit signs. Colorado is Kansas filled with snobs and mountains two hours away. Don't forget your belt buckle, as everyone thinks that fashion is Burt Reynolds Jeans purchased at the Wal-Mart that’s within 2 miles of every neighborhood in this so called cosmo city. Be careful, as one commenter was right about the bigots that exist out here, it's still the good ol boy mentality.
