Edgewater is an "urban city"???? -
5/13/2010Edgewater is an "urban city"?....... What?.... Edgewater is a small little bedroom community that no one has ever heard of because its a only a few blocks and confused with Wheatridge. I don't what you consider crime, but there isn't any real crime in Edgewater, except for maybe the occasional domestic between a husband and wife who forgot to water their garden. ...... Frequent gunshots?, I cant remember that last time there's been a shooting in Edgewater, I would say gunshots are unheard of, rather than frequent. maybe your confusing firecrackers with gunshots. The sirens you hear are the ambulance from other cities traveling down Sheridan going to St Anthony's hospital or maybe you hear Denver police, fire or paramedics going down Sheridan, but it definitely isn't related to Edgewater. The occasional graffiti that pops up in Edgewater, looks like it came from a 10 year old trying to imitate what he saw on Gangland (or internet). If you think Edgewater has gang problem, your sadly mistaken, you need to travel. Casper Wyoming has a bigger gang problem than Edgewater' The only thing remotely related to a real gang is the 1 retired gang member who moved there from LA after he was chased out for being weak...... Interesting, but desperate attempt at spanglish, keep practicing. I especially like the part where you name your little friends and then incriminate them.Let me give a quick geography lesson. Edgewater is NOT a neighborhood, it is its own city in Jefferson County. This is why Edgewater has their own police dept, fire dept and their own mayor. How come Villa Park, Barnum, or Westwood don't have their own police dept's, fire dept's or mayors, that is because they are a neighborhood within a city. No matter how much you try or wish, Edgewood is a neighborhood in lakeWOOD's Northeast EDGE. By the way the "projects at 18th and Kendall" are actually privately owned condos located outside Edgewater's border in the City of Lakewood. Educate yourself on what Housing Projects actually are. Sure I'm familiar with the Gallant Knights Insane or Gangstas killin Incas and the West Side Bloods....... any little toy can put up some generic tag on some fence in a dark alley in the middle of the night or claim they ex members to their friends little brother..... . Obliviously you've never left Colorado before, 99% of Denver has suburb characteristics, ask your mom if she'll take you to a real city so you can see what urban is and what low income is. Also why do you keep mentioning all these shootings and murders that happened in Lakewood or Denver? what do they have to do with Edgewater? By the way $39,000.00 is quite a bit of money I'm not sure how your thinking that's low income...FYI $39,000.00 /Yr is 3 times above the poverty rate and is what is defined as median income..Your just a kid who is trying to represent his neighborhood...but on the internet?....Oh yeah that's what we call an INTERNET GANGSTER. 5/11/2010Wow ! that's an interesting posting. I am very familiar with Edgewater and I researched almost everything you've said and almost everything you said is completely FALSE. For example ...... your reference to the crime statistics are completely untrue and misleading, I see where your going by trying to imagine IF Edgewater was a 100,000 person city and multiplying everything. Even with that bizarre way of looking at it, you are still wrong ! Why don't you just say it for what it is. For example Edgewater reported the following to CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigations) in 2008. 482 total incidents, 0 murders , 0 Sex Assaults, 5 robberies, 43 Assaults( only 6 by hands or feet and 0 with gun or knife), 29 Burglaries, 31 vehicle thefts and 252 thefts. this isn't even close to what you claim of "6,704 incidents, 18.8 murders, 188.3 robberies, 263.7 assaults, 508.5 burglaries, 4,821 thefts, 885.1 vehicle thefts".
Also you mention Edgewood and say it is part of Edgewater, when in fact it is a name of a Lakewood neighborhood and it is in the city limits of Lakewood. It is called Edgewood because it is on the northeast border of Lakewood, hence Edgewood.
West Colfax is a joke when it comes to high crime and danger. I'd walk up down that street day and night and don't have the slightest worry. It is a Joke.

SORRY, Edgewater has always been a backward Podunk little town and always will be. I think your a little delusional and need to travel outside sheltered Colorado and go visit somewhere that is actually "no Joke". Edgewater is NOT a neighborhood, it is its own city in Jefferson County. This is why Edgewater has their own police dept, fire dept and their own mayor. How come Villa Park, Barnum, or Westwood don't have their own police dept's, fire dept's or mayors, that is because they are a neighborhood within a city. 1/25/2010Edgewater is an "urban city"?....... What?.... Edgewater is a small little bedroom community that no one has ever heard of because its a only a few blocks and confused with Wheatridge. I don't what you consider crime, but there isn't any real crime in Edgewater, except for maybe the occasional domestic between a husband and wife who forgot to water their garden. ...... Frequent gunshots?, I cant remember that last time there's been a shooting in Edgewater, I would say gunshots are unheard of, rather than frequent. maybe your confusing firecrackers with gunshots. The sirens you hear are the ambulance from other cities traveling down Sheridan going to St Anthony's hospital or maybe you hear Denver police, fire or paramedics going down Sheridan, but it definitely isn't related to Edgewater. The occasional graffiti that pops up in Edgewater, looks like it came from a 10 year old trying to imitate what he saw on Gangland (or internet). If you think Edgewater has gang problem, your sadly mistaken, you need to travel. Casper Wyoming has a bigger gang problem than Edgewater' The only thing remotely related to a real gang is the 1 retired gang member who moved there from LA after he was chased out for being weak...... Low Income? The houses in Edgewater are so expensive, hardly anyone can afford to live there............. Nick puts it best, Edgewater is Mayberry. Stop trying build Edgewater's street credit on the Internet... it wont work.

1/25/2010Wow ! that's an interesting posting. I am very familiar with Edgewater and I researched almost everything you've said and almost everything you said is completely FALSE. For example ...... your reference to the crime statistics are completely untrue and misleading, I see where your going by trying to imagine IF Edgewater was a 100,000 person city and multiplying everything. Even with that bizarre way of looking at it, you are still wrong ! Why don't you just say it for what it is. For example Edgewater reported the following to CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigations) in 2008. 482 total incidents, 0 murders , 0 Sex Assaults, 5 robberies, 43 Assaults( only 6 by hands or feet and 0 with gun or knife), 29 Burglaries, 31 vehicle thefts and 252 thefts. this isn't even close to what you claim of "6,704 incidents, 18.8 murders, 188.3 robberies, 263.7 assaults, 508.5 burglaries, 4,821 thefts, 885.1 vehicle thefts".
Also you mention Edgewood and say it is part of Edgewater, when in fact it is a name of a Lakewood neighborhood and it is in the city limits of Lakewood. It is called Edgewood because it is on the northeast border of Lakewood, hence Edgewood.
West Colfax is a joke when it comes to high crime and danger. I'd walk up down that street day and night and don't have the slightest worry. It is a Joke.

SORRY, Edgewater has always been a backward Podunk little town and always will be.
