2/3/2008I grew up in Philadelphia and it was already going down when I was growing up in North Philadelphia. However, after moving away and returning to be closer to my Mom, I moved to the Northeast with my children and it was not bad at all. I found a good decent job too. However, the crime is very high and it seems that nice areas are become hig crime as well. It's like you have to keep moving further up in the Northeast to feel safer.

2/3/2008Clarksville, TN is a great place to raise children. It is quiet and very clean. Of course, every city has its areas which are not too desirable but overall, it is very nice. They have great schools, beautiful homes for a reasonable price. However, when it comes to the jobs (unless you are military and are stationed in Fort Campbell, KY), not too many unless you are willing to travel to Nashville, TN. It is about an hour drive - the pay is decent. Best of luck to you.

2/3/2008I lived in Clarksville for 3.5 years as my husband was stationed in Fort Campbell, KY. It is a very nice place to live and you can find a nice home for a reasonable price. However, as to jobs, there are not too many. If you wish to get a good paying job, you may have to drive to Nashville, which is abou 1 hour away from Clarksville. The pay is pretty decent if you don't mind the drive.
