Yukon, OK
Very nice place to live! -
8/14/2006I lived in Yukon for nearly four years. Amazingly has a small town feel, yet only minutes from downtown Oklahoma City. Yukon is sort of a secret suburb of OKC. Very reasonable real estate, low property taxes, low utilities, some excellent schools, people generally wonderful and accepting. Only real drawback is the heat and humidity of summer. Very nice city to reside in, great for families.

Not sure if I like it or not! -
8/14/2006Moved here about four months ago. Typical small town, everybody knows everybody and what everybody knows what you are doing before you even know!! Many good people, neighbors. Quiet, clean air, brightest stars you can imagine at night. Have ridiculous two only dog ordinance - not strickly enforced though, can have as many cats as you please. Housing is of course very cheap, utilities not bad - property taxes high. Auto tags and insurance very low. Great school system. Fun local fair called "Threshing Days" in August each year. For any shopping must go to Newton. 15 minutes or Wichita, about 40 minutes drive. Conservative town in politics, but seem to accept outsiders well once they meet you. Opened a business and community has been supportive.
