Annapolis, MD
Disappointment -
3/22/2010We moved to Annapolis a little over two years ago and I must say it has not been as good as I hoped. There is a huge huge income disparity, it is not integrated at all and there are projects all over the city. The historical buildings and potential of the town are marred by strip malls and terrible civil engineering.
We send our son to the only good public school in the city as we want him to be well rounded but as it is the only good school the children are all spoiled brats and the houses in that area are all over priced. We are both from what people consider expensive areas in the North but what you get for your money there compared to here is astounding. Where $800,000 would buy you a beautiful historical house with a nice yard in New England, here it buys you a new poorly made house on a tenth of an acre.
This is a beautiful city but it is NOT for everyone so do your research before moving here! Oh and the drivers are horrendous. They don't understand the concept of a fast lane and merging is an impossible feat.
