2/18/2011Not sure how much this will help but I moved from California to Oklahoma City 10 years ago and I am pretty familiar with the Dallas area. I came here for the Air Force but have stayed back here because of the better quality of life. The Dallas area has many of the luxuries, stores, attractions, and restaraunts (including In and Out Burger soon) that California has at half the cost. There are all of the major sports, plenty of shopping, theme parks, and other recreation in abundance. The people back here are awesome, much friendlier and live at a slower pace. Texas is hot with some humidity and has some amount of snow and ice in the winter but not much. I do not think you would be disappointed with the move. Hope this helps at least a little.

Moore is Better Than Most -
4/5/2009I would invite somebody who thinks that Moore is so terrible to try living in Stockton, CA. I was born and raised there and have traveled all over and I can tell you that Moore is a great place to live and raise a family. The schools are good, housing is low, and crime is not bad. People complain about things to do and there is plenty to do in Moore and it is not a long drive to Oklahoma City, Norman, or even Edmond. Don't be fooled by all of the places that seem to have so much more to "do" because those places usually bring along all of the negative aspects of city living (crime, pollution, high cost of living, etc.) Go try living in Stockton if you want to really see rude people, worry about having your car stolen, cannot go out after 9 pm, see prostitutes walking the main streets, and worry about if a gang might want to do target practice on you because you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Anybody who complains about Moore just does not realize how good it is here. If all you have to worry about is it being "boring" than that should be even more reason to stay.
