Don't Move to North Charleston -
1/23/2015I recently relocated here from upstate New York. The crime is out of control at least in my personal opinion. There is a shooting/robbery/car-jacking on the news just about every night and unlike NY the crime seems to happen all over the place. In NY it usually stayed in the same sketchy neighborhoods, but that is not the case here. The places here that are supposed to be "safe" are not; at least not to my standard. I even lived in the big apple and felt safer than I do here.
If you're considering moving here to North Charleston, keep looking. There isn't anything terribly scenic, and the traffic is an absolute nightmare. I honestly feel like I live in the wild west.
The reason we moved here in the first place was the wonderful climate and the cheap housing, but is it really worth it if you're going to have your stuff broken into at least once a year? Nope.
