7/11/2005 Martinsburg is a really small town. It doesn't have much on culture or art, or anything else. The main entertainment is "gentlemen's clubs"...I think there is about 7 or 8.
The only good thing about Martinsburg is the weather is fairly decent...the winter is usually not too difficult.
There are a lot of people who live in Martinsburg and surrounding areas who work in Washington, DC, so recently a lot of housing has been developed.
Even so, Martinsburg is just another exuse for a walmart.
Columbus, OH
About Columbus -
7/11/2005 Columbus has it's definite good points: Lots of attractions, museums,culture, sports, music, art. It also has a number of colleges and universities.
However, Columbus does have traffic problems. Traffic going into and coming out of Columbus during rush hour can prove to be stressful. There is also not enough parking in the downtown and down town vicinty.
Columbus has a public bus system (www.cota.com). It runs everyday of the week and goes to a lot of places. The average time between buses is from 15 - 30 minutes. On Sundays the buses only run once an hour and stop running at 7pm.
As a student myself, I think Columbus is a good place for students. You can travel mostly by bus if needed, and there are a lot of great events to go to. There are also a lot of other students in the city ( Ohio State University has 57,000 of them) so it's a good place to meet new people.
The weather is usually cloudy and grey here, I'm not sure why. Columbus gets some snow but rarely gets the dreaded lake effect snow.
