7/12/2019In addition to commuting to San Francisco through Marin, we now have a Ferry that goes from Richmond straight to San Francisco. It’s such a popular way to commute, and they’re carrying so many more people than they anticipated they’ve decided to include weekends. There are maybe only ten days I wish I had air conditioning (and a fan takes care of that), I only use my heater about 30 days a year, and it’s not uncommon to have a day in the mid ‘60’s in the middle of winter. The only drawbacks are the schools aren’t great, and now that we’ve been “discovered housing prices are much higher and it’s become too expensive for most people to buy a house. It’s too bad - until about 10 years ago, nice homes could be had for a very affordable price

Richmond has been my home for well over 30 years. -
6/23/2017I've lived here for more than half of my life, and never want to leave. The weather is nearly perfect. The population is very racially diverse and people for the most part get along. Politically it's left of center. We have 32 beautiful miles of coastline (more than any other city in the Bay Area). Housing is high, but less than most of the Bay Area. I love my neighbors, my friends, and living in such a great place!
