You hit the nail on the head metha. there's too many police offers here, not to count they're very corrupt. you're also correct on the tow truck. my daughter's have lost several cars in the past 10 years because of the towing companies here. i've lived in muskogee for over 34 years and i ask myself daily how i stayed this long. my kids go to tulsa a lot and people will ask where they're from and when they tell them from muskogee they roll their eyes...i think i stay here because i've grown old here but still think every day about leaving, but my family lives in oregon and if you think it's bad in muskogee don't go to oregon. it's even worse. i get where you're coming from though metha. there's damn sure a lot of bad stuff here.

Living in Muskogee - 10/23/2013
I've lived in Muskogee for over 35 years. All of my family lives in Oregon. Ore. & Okla. are as different as night and day! People are very friendly here, and we want to make sure that new comers feel at home here. Whereas in Ore. people are cold, rude, and distant. They do not want people moving to their state. I lived in Ore. for many years. I grew up in Banks, ore. I moved to Muskogee 35 years ago. Every time I visit Ore. the people get more, and more rude, and hateful. Robot personalities at the super market. Most Oregonians make fun of people from other states. whereas, in Muskogee you're greeted with a smile in the supermarket. Every other car is waving, or knodding their head at you to say hello. Muskogee has the warmest, kindest people. Oregon is a beautiful State with very ugly people living in it. Summers are hot here, the lakes aren't the best of lakes here, there's really not much to do here but gamble at the hundreds of Indian casinos, or drink in the bars, but there's a lot of fast food resturaunts, parks, move theaters here. There's a nice little mall here, we have a wal-mart super center, k-mart, dollar general, family dollar, big lots, sears, dillards, mcdonalds, burger king, golden corral, pizza in, pizza hut, little ceasers pizza, kentucky friend chicken, and a nice little water park for the kids. Tulsa is only about 45 mins. away and it's a pretty nice drive. I do think that there's a lot of clicks here as far as getting things done here. It's about who you know, not what you know. I personally feel that we have a highly corrept police department, attornies, judges...but as long as you stay out of trouble you'll be ok. There's entirely too many police offers in Muskogee. They constantly have road blocks here, and speed traps. I can say with as many police officers as we have here, along with the corruption of the police department there's no gangs here. lol! If you want a good job you had better know someone or you probably won't get one in Muskogee. Georga picific is always hiring but never does hire anyone unless they're recommended by someone from a temp. service, or from another employee. Dal tile is the same way, but Mcdonalds is always willing to hire anyone and everyone, along with Sonic and the other fast food places. It's beautiful in Muskogee in the Autumn. Rent is cheaper than most places, but you get what you pay for here. Lot's of roaches, ants, bugs, bees, wasps, ticks, chiggars, copper heads, cotton mouths, mice, and any other critter you can think of here. Camping can get pretty buggy during the summer months. What kept me here for 30+ years is the people are very kind, and friendly. You will be accepted in Muskogee. Every town has it's good and bad points, but Muskogee has quite a few bad points about it, but the good points over ride the bad points I guess. I'm still here for some reason.
