Lived here 9 months and love it -
6/14/2007We chose Hot Springs because it is in a beautiful, historic area AND has a lively arts community. Our home is on Lake Hamilton with our boat slip right at our back door.
We are currently thoroughly enjoying the annual 2 weeks long Music Festival and are looking forward to the 10 days long Documentary Film Festival in October (the 4th most well known in the country, believe it or not). Every month there is an art gallery walk and an antiques walk on the 1st and 3rd Friday evening of the month. Delightful evenings - meeting interesting people, looking at art and antiques and endulging in the complimentary wine and canapes.
Lake front properties, propert taxes and the general cost of living are extremely reasonable in comparison with other states. Californians are moving here in great numbers and are consequently pushing up property values.
