re: Pros & Cons - 10/6/2011 Posted On: 1/18/2012 10:56:37 AM

I was born and raised in Chicago too. I'm sick of the weather and expense. Being from the southside and moving to the northside when I got older I know about the cultural divide and that's no problem, unfortunately, you see that everywhere. I've been to New Mexico several times and I love the weather. Been to Albuquerque once for 4 days to take a look around and from what I saw I really like the area. But what is the water situation? Is it as bad as I am hearing? If it is we may decide to rent as opposed to buy.

Money, money, money........Money!!!! Posted On: 1/16/2012 12:42:05 PM

If you want to live well in Chicago, you gotta have money. I was born and raised in Chi. I had a good paying job making about $75,000.00 I was raised on the southside but fled to the northside as soon as I was able and loved it. I was frugal because I had to be. There is so much to do and many things are free but if you want to really enjoy Chi you have to be have the money to spend. Chi is the place to be for things to do but lots of cash is necessary for the doing.

Excellent review. You gave me a great deal to think about. Just one question. I do need sun at least 3 times a week. Does Oregon have that much in the winter and spring months?

Hi Jay,
What is the climate like in Eugene? Is it as cloudy as they say?
