I have to tell you that there are 4 distinct seasons here, each one having a special quality about it. The seasons stay long enough to really get to enjoy each stage of the year. The city is clean, the people are nice, there is art work and beautifly decorated planters every where. Some of the best skiing and snowboarding is just about an hour drive away. In the summer time there is rafting, hiking, camping, fishing, I could go on and on! This is a city that offers a smaller town feel with it's humble people and amazing mountain views. At least come to visit! If you choose for Denver to be your next home you will be making a great choice! This replay was copied from Ginger her post was above yours but is exactly how i feel and worded to perfection. I love the prices out here and believe the cost of living here is one of the top ten lowest. :) God bless

Sorry I don't know statistics to voice much of an opinion about schools or drugs in area but it is an area where a lot of people take pride in their homes and a lot of old homes are being redone into very beautiful remodels. My advice (because i believe you will love this city) is to move out and rent in an area you might like to make your home and see for yourself first hand also check out neighboring areas to refine an area just perfect for you and your little man. Good luck and God bless.

Posers? Maybe its families teaching their children to ski or snowboard and they aren't good enough for your greatness yet? Most skiers come from other states by the way and that might be why it gets so clogged up going up and down for you on the weekends, try renting a condo for a week, schedule it from Tuesday to Tuesday. thats how us real skiers do it.

Fake as burning fire? Burning fire is real dude..ask the people that get caught up in forest fires. Ever thought that if your surrounded by crackheads you might be in a bad neighborhood and not a bad state? Check yourself before posting about everyone in a city when your sidewalks stroll along in front of strip joints.

Like most booming cities its expensive to live near the action and the small commutes either move farther out for a bit cheaper or pay the cost for the best views of mountains, city and have the best commute time. I love the lofts downtown and the action, i have lived here all my life and cant afford to be in the center either. Cost of living is great most every place other then prime real estate, that goes for any state or country in my opinion.

I love Denver but id have to agree that some area's you mentioned have their rough times, and can be bad, but their are good and bad in every city. Also i disagree and think we are very diverse with a mixture of many different races and many of them.

re: Denver - too hot, sunny, dry, brown dull - and
- 8/25/2010
Your talking about how people look and you've not even posted one of yourself. If you had 102 temp that was rare and only happened once, its a mild climate not too cold in winter (try Minn.)and like you said mostly above freezing temps. and never too hot, from like 70 to 90 in summers. You seem like a born complainer. Brown dull? lol we get fresh water from the mountains til mid summer were very green here. You may think the Snow and drivers on the way to resorts are crazy but they are not, they are just experienced winter drivers that know the best way to get through the snow covered streets, i suggest you allow a real Coloradian to show you the restaurants and social scenes and maybe you'd make a friend to drive you safely up the Rockies! lol at your ( !!!!!!! )like its insane here.

Wonderful Warm State (Thats people not Climate) - 8/25/2010
Colorado is very beautiful and green through most of the state. Its has the majestic Rocky Mountains running through it and they are so huge you can see them almost from anywhere in the state. Not only do i believe in its Beauty but also in its people. I can count on almost every experience with the social scene to be with kind warm friendly people that care how you feel while visiting and living here in this state. Even the stars visit Colorado for their old towns from the gold rush days and for their rustic ski resorts and light friendly social scenes. You could be a star like Goldie Hawn ans Kurt Russel and hang around our friendly people that know you like privacy and wait for you to make the moves to join in rather then harass you and stare making you not feel at home here. Having people like that care for our State just like we do makes me very proud. The fact that the stars not only come for fun but to own some of this grand land makes me very happy that we are not alone in knowing how wonderful this state is and how it gives back to its people. I feel its a finely kept secret and sorta feel I'm giving it away telling you how wonderful it is cause at the moment we don't have the over crowding that many states have nor do we have the huge price for living here. We get the best of both worlds, mild to hot summers but never too hot also cold winters for our skiing and snowboarding hobbies that stays on the mountains so long until spring but melts off the mountains to freshen our waters and fill or reserves without making our towns stay buried in snow through the whole winter.Yes sometimes after a hard snow storm (and the are beautiful also) our streets melt the next day our sun comes out our mountains stay covered in white bliss and we get to see the white caps from almost anywhere in the state! Wonderful Warm State!
