8/16/2011The commuter traffic is especially bad on 4 during commuter hours. It is best to travel on Sundays. They are widening 4 hoping to improve the traffic. If your job is in Brentwood, I suggest you live in Brentwood. Homes and rent cost less and Brentwood is a beautiful well-planned town. They have a wonderful shopping center, the Streets of Brentwood with great restaurants, shops, and the Rave Theater. The schools are very good too. They have a very bountiful Farmer's Market because of the farms bordering the east and south of the city. Finally, because the town is still small, the City Council Members, Mayor, and Police Chief are very accessible if you ever need to voice your concerns. It is further away from SF than Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek. Good luck.

11/17/2010I love living in Brentwood. Our city planners and workers have done an excellent job in creating a beautiful city filled with trees, parks, well- planned communities, preserved farmlands, and shopping hubs. No matter where you drive in Brentwood, you will find beauty. What little blight we have, our city is working to remove it. Our police department has kept the crime lower than the other cities in the Bay Area. Most of all, the people are friendly. I've travel to many places in the world and I am always so happy to return to beautiful and serene Brentwood.
